1980 CHICAGOFEST COUNTRY CONCERT
It was a beautiful day for a Waylon Jennings concert at Chicagofest on the city's lakefront in 1980. The site of Navy Pier was the location for a 2 week festival featuring music on 17 stages, food from around the world, a pinball arcade, air and water show performances and more. My profile can be seen on the far left of frame #02A with friends. The main stage capacity was 30,000 and an overflow can be seen on the bridge overlooking the stage on #07A. Lake Point Towers is the backdrop to the crowd in #04A. One of my favorite photos is of the Good Humor man and his beat up truck in #01A. Frame #00A does not need an explanation, lol. Because we were packed like sardines I stayed in my bleacher seat otherwise you snooze you lose. Good times!
