How amazing that Benny Goodman was the headliner at Jewish Fest Rogers Park on June 28, 1981. The fest took place behind Winston Towers in the West Ridge neighborhood with large crowds both young and old. Carnival rides, music, political action and vendors entertained the masses on a beautiful and sunny summer day. Mayor Jane Bryne and her husband Jay McMullen introduced Benny Goodman who can been seen on stage with clarinet under his arm. Good times!
