In 1980 I was all in photographing everything and anything that crossed my path including the children in front of 3731 N. Magnolia in Chicago. Wrigleyville was a sleepy neighborhood in 1980 where you didn't know that there was a Cubs game in town, which was just a few blocks away until you saw the senior citizens getting off the bus with their Chicago Cubs baseball hat clutching a bag of peanuts. We lived in a greystone a few houses away from where these young children were playing. The best part about photographing them was their willingness to pose for me. Whatever I ask them to do they were on it with smiles, laughter, throwing a frisbee, on their bicycles, ready to throw a baseball and pumping their little arms to show off their muscles. After 46 years the scanner brought to life the photos that were long forgotten and where I became just as enamored looking at these photos now as I did when I took them in 1980. The moral of the story in 2026 is keep scanning. Stay tuned there will be more!
