LEBANON, NEW JERSERY, HEADSHOP, RITZ THEATER, WHITE FAMILY 1980 (10)

LEBANON, NEW JERSERY, HEADSHOP, RITZ THEATER, WHITE FAMILY 1980 (10)

In the summer of 1980, Frank and I drove to Lebanon, PA to visit his family. We spent the day at Hershey Amusement Park and more of the amusement park can be seen on this website also in 1980 with the rides and fun house. After visiting the folks we were off to visit the Singleys in Collinswood, New Jersey. While driving through Collingswood I asked George to pull over so I could take photos of the High Supply head shop. The store was closed but I was able to photograph through the window where there was a plethora of paraphernalia with sunlight providing ambient lighting throughout. You can see that a lot of effort went into the exterior of the store with the Grim Reaper and the Harley-Davidson logo. We follow up with a photo of the Ritz Theater which is still in full operation in Elizabeth New Jersey. In 1980, the Ritz was a porn theater establishment and in as of the 2020s has been fully restored and is in full operation as a music venue. Next are photos of myself and Frank where we took turns taking a photo of each other. Back to Philly with a visit to Carpenters Hall for a a history lesson about the official birthplace of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and a key meeting place for colonial delegates during the early part of the American Revolution.
