1981 WRIGLEY FIELD_GEORGIA ALEXANDER AT GRACELAND CEMETARY
Often times I would split a roll of film between different days and events. The first four frames are of my Mother, Georgia Alexander who would come and visit me in the Wrigley Field neighborhood that I lived in during the 1980's. My Mom was a fan of old neighborhoods and Chicago history and on this day we visited Graceland Cemetery which was 3 blocks away from my apartment on Clark and Grace Streets. We walked to Lincoln Avenue for a treat at Dinkel's Bakery an old time favorite.
Frames 27-36 are of a rain delay at Wrigley Field where the tarps came out during the rain delay and rolled back up to play ball. From the looks of the score board the Chicago Cubs were playing the Phillies. If you look under the score board you will see many fans taking cover during the rain delay. In the 1980's a cheap ticket could be had for $1.50 after the 4th inning and the park was wide open with fewer than 4,000 fans.
