When I visited Great America in 1978 it was only 2 years old. It was my second visit to the park, the first in 1976. Both times I took the Greyhound Bus where I was dropped off in very close proximity to the park. My camera was filled with color slide film which is tricky to expose. If your exposures are off slightly either too light or too dark, the result is off color and not pleasing to look at. We begin with the swing ride and I especially love looking at the bell bottoms in the first photo. Now we are up in the air and if you look at the backs of the children in the second photo, you will notice that they are in a ride facing me in photo number nine. Two people are on the bench, one young, one old both clutching what is it important to them. The final photos are of the marching band fellas who are rocking out with their woodwind, brass instruments and drums. If you look at the last photo, you will see that there is a cowbell on the drum. Needs more cowbell!
