The neighborhood north of the University of Illinois, Chicago was a once a gritty area that has turned posh condos, eateries and boutiques. Hard to imagine, right? On this day in 1975 I walked from the UIC campus to see what could be captured on film and here it is. You will recognize bits and pieces of the past that look familiar and some bits where you say, what is that? Note that area codes not included with phone numbers back in the 1970s. Look closely at frame #42 to see what is behind the windshield. If I had a wish it would be to own one of these big gas guzzlers to drag race up LSD on a hot summer night.
