ST. PATRICKS PARADE 1979_08

ST. PATRICKS PARADE 1979_08

St. Patrick's Day is always cold, wet, rainy and sometimes snowy. But that does not deter the crowds of the pride of being Irish, in fact "Everyone is Irish on St. Paddy's Day"! I get a chuckle from #01 where the young man is drinking a brew in the rain in sandals while the people in the background take cover. In 1979 there seemed to be little regard for vanished species such as the African leopard worn in #03. My sister Maria and bestie Margo can be seen paying homage to the late Mayor Richard J. Daley (The Boss) who built the Chicago Democratic Party as we know it today through patronage and absolute control (who sent you?).
